The 3D model manual offers the possibility to access a collection of 3d models from course by the tracking system and show this in VRlAb stereoscopy.
The system recognize black-white marker in the 3d model manual with the help of a standard webcam. This manual is similar to a common photo album.
Instead of photos it contains pattern-based markers. Depending on the marker, the corresponding objects are displayed on the presentation screen in 3D.
The 3d model can rotate with help of marker or with keyboard commands. Additional input is done with a self-made, wireless cube that takes the task for rotating. Colour recognition is used to get the actual position and rotation angle of the cube that is transformed to the 3d object.
The aim is to use the cube as 3d input device. Special developed software is setting up on C++ library “ARToolKitPlus” and is based on Microsoft DirectX©.
