The Project 3D Video Transformation is working on an implementation for three-dimensional video conferences. Therefore, the first step is to develop in Webcam quality and later use HD-format.<\/p>\n

Based on Microsoft DirectShow, that is part of DirectX, two images of average eye separation of an installed Webcam-\/HD camera should be sent with the help of multiplexer over the network.<\/p>\n

The multiplexes accumulate the single images of both cameras to one data stream. On receiver side the data stream runs through a demultiplexer and the reclaimed single images will be overlaid and different coloured. The images of the left and right camera have different colours. By means of 3D-glass provided with special filters you can see three-dimensional images of the conference participant.<\/p>\n

The work to get a good compression of the video stream is done by accelerating the transmission over the network. The next step will be the extension for audio stream.
